Why is Zen Market called Zen Market? This is a question our new colleague asks us very often, and we frequently look for the right words to explain the vision behind the name of this project. The process of creating the name has been quite a painful and challenging topic for us from the beginning.
The initial suggestions consisted of terms derived from various Japanese traditions and symbols. Such a name worked for quite a long time as a working name for our project. But how likely is it that enough people will be familiar with the chosen Japanese tradition or symbol for the name to make sense to them,
as it does to us? So, for a long time, we couldn't identify enough with the chosen working name until the concept of Zen Market came up.
For us, combining the words "zen" and "market" is not entirely accidental. We interpret the word "zen" as a state of inner harmony, peace and simplicity, very closely linked to inner balance. And that is precisely the feeling we want to deliver to our customers with Japanese green teas and premium matcha. We aim
to bring that feeling of inner harmony and peace into your homes, restaurants and cafes. By the word "market", we have tried to describe our platform simply. We started this project to bring the best Japanese teas and matcha you can find on the Japanese market.
It's a long, thorny and never-ending journey, but we would like to create
a platform that our customers will love to come back to, and that's why we are willing to take this journey. In the course of our journey, we are discovering that Zen is not as simple a concept as it may first appear.
As we personally move towards more advanced principles of Zen, we will be able to offer you more and more attractive products and bring you more and more stories and ideas.
