Hōjicha is a traditional Japanese tea made by roasting green tea leaves. This process changes not only the color of the green tea, but also its taste. Roasting gives Hōjicha a slightly sweet, nutty flavor with smoky undertones.
Preparation:
- 1. steeping: 3-5 grams of tea, 200 ml water, 85°C, 60 sec
- 2. steeping: 200 ml water, 85°C, 75 sec
- 3. steeping: 200 ml water, 85°C, 90 sec
- 4. steeping: 200 ml water, 90°C, 2 sec
- 5. steeping: 200 ml water, 95°C, 3 min
- 6. steeping: 200 ml water, 100°C, 5 min
